The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program is a nationwide service designed to help small businesses thrive. Federal, state and local government, the educational community and the private sector work together to grow successful businesses. The local SBDC office is sponsored by a partnership between Tarleton State University (TSU) and the U.S. Business Administration.

 

The TSU SBDC is a non-profit organization and is funded by federal, state, and local government.

 

Counseling

Individual counseling is available for potential and existing small business owners. The SBDC staff, university faculty, graduate and volunteer counselors provide assistance to the community. Counseling is available in a variety of areas including business plan preparation, accounting procedures, marketing feasibility, and exporting.
 

Training, Conferences and Workshops

The SBDC conducts workshops and training seminars throughout the area to help small business owners adapt to a changing business world. These training seminars are designed to provide management training for small business owners. Topic areas include business plan development, cash flow, customer relations, retail improvement, women's business issues, home-based business development and small business tax information.

Resource Library

The SBDC library at Tarleton State University includes extensive resource material oriented to small business management. Materials prepared and published by the Small Business Administration (SBA) are usually available to the

Technical Assistance

Technical assistance services familiarize small business owners with existing resources and programs to help resolve technology exchange and development problems.

Export Assistance

Export assistance is available through a cooperative effort of the Northwest Texas Small Business development Center, Texas Department of Economic Development, Texas Department of Commerce, Procurement Assistance Centers, U.S. and foreign commercial services and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Our SBDC staff offers counseling services which are confidential and at no charge to the client. All SBDC programs are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Reasonable arrangements are made for persons with disabilities if requested two weeks in advance.

 
 

If you are interested in starting a small business, improving or expanding your existing business, you qualify for our services. Our programs and services are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis.
